Marketers are used to spending on media, on agencies and on activations. But since technology burst out to the forefront of marketing spending a few years ago, the leadership has been unsure of how much to carve out for technology spending due to a lack of benchmarks.

This calculator, built on some intensive research by Gartner for 2015-16, helps you make a back-of-the-envelope estimation for your annual marketing technology spend. The research was conducted across enterprises with a median annual revenue of $3.5bn and across the US, the UK and Canada. It represents both B2B and B2C companies across a wide variety of industries, so use this calculation only as a benchmark.
